Chile Volcano Eruption Causing Flight Cancellations

An ash cloud from the Calbuco volcano in southern Chile that erupted unexpectedly on Wednesday was blowing into Chile and Argentina on Thursday, forcing the cancellation of flights from nearby cities in both countries and blanketing residents in ash.

So far LAN Airline has cancelled 20 flights.  The ashes from the eruption are now starting to spread over Argentina.

At this time there is no forecast of the ashes reaching Buenos Aires, and flights in and out of Santiago have not been delayed,
